Public bug reported: AFAIUI tp-smapi-dkms has been designed to have dkms compile and install tp-smapi modules for every newly installed kernel automatically. It does great in that job - with a small little exception: the latest kernel packages do include one of the modules deriving from tp-smapi, but that is not removed from /lib/modules/$KERNEL-VERSION. I removed the original file manually and ran depmod -a afterwards, but I guess quite a number of Thinkpad owners don't know enough about Linux to find out there are two modules with the same name in the modules tree...
