Still a bug according to the original description, although it is partially solved by package tp-smapi-dkms which allows automatic compilation and installation of the latest tp-smapi modules (tp_smapi.ko, hdaps.ko, thinkpad_ec.ko) on installation of a new kernel. Alas, there is still a bug with that: One of those modules is present in the latest kernel packages, so depmod will see two of them :/
