Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pm-utils
When I close my laptop lid, it will go into suspended mode as I want, however, when I open the laptop lid and it resumes the display will be completely wrong. The display is completely scrambled and somewhat 'static like'. There is no response from the keyboard or mouse as far as I can tell. I am unable to switch to any of the terminals via Ctrl-F1-6 and am forced to do a reset by holding down on the power button. To make sure that this was not a hardware issue, I booted into my windows 7 installation and similarly closed the laptop lid, allowed to suspend and reopened it and the display was perfectly fine. I repeated this a couple of times and found that the display issue only occurred in the Ubuntu installation.
