I was trying to rotate jpeg files. However, I am currently unable to reproduce this bug. Meanwhile, I had a hardware upgrade (CPU, mainboard, RAM, graphics card), so maybe it was a hardware-induced issue. It is also possible, that some other ubuntu component's (mime database, etc.) security fix solved the issue. Anyway, I will try to close this bug report for now, and will reopen, if it ever occurs.
