the best I can hear from you is "as far as I know", but nobody really knows, nobody is able to explain, and when asking for details people tend to become almost rude.
If I am not wrong, it doesn't make any sense to use a mirror. because packages I suppose are dispatched from the main node. If the main node is not working, mirrors won't get any update. Hope somebody won't answer again "as far as I know"... and it would be nice to hear some official explanation about the issue.
