IMO the issue occurs for chipsets with Intel audio, at least that's what I observe in this one and several of the duplicate bugs.
AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: sean 1157 F.... pulseaudio CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory Card0.Amixer.info: Card hw:0 'Intel'/'HDA Intel at 0xf7db8000 irq 22' I have the same issue with Kubuntu 10.04 beta and kernel 2.6.32 on Sony VAIO VPC EB1E1E. For me the crash occurs right after I choose Reboot or Shut down from KDE Application launcher menu. It shows that plazma-desktop crashed with Segmentation fault and after few seconds reboots/shuts down. Workaround that works for me: If I reboot/shutdown by running 'sudo reboot' / 'sudo halt' the crash doesn't occur.
