I've read on this forum thread : http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1239342&page=8 that Realtek sends by mail a driver compatible with 64bits to people who contact the support.
I mailed them today and Realtek (kidman) sends me the driver v14 which works on 64 bits (tested on kubuntu lucid). It facts, this is the same driver for 32 and 64 bits but older versions only work on 32 bits (prior to v13 I think as both v13 and v14 work on 64 bits). On my Samsung R580 laptop, it disconnects often but it is usable. When it disconnects, sometimes, it can not reconnect automatically so I have to unload the module and reload it, then it works again for some time. I've attached it. Hope this help ** Attachment added: "Driver v14 from Realtek" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/44443736/rtl8192e_linux_2.6.0014.0401.2010.tar.gz -- rtl819xE:request firmware fail! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/508746 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
