Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

Hi there,

I have an Acer 1810TZ in which G-P-M is giving wrong info about the AC
status.

Right now, I'm running on Battery, and gnome-power-manager seems to
behave the correct way: brightness goes down and it gives information
about the discharge rate and so on. However, when going the AC Adapter
section it says the AC is connected, which is wrong.

Acpi gets the info just right:
$ acpi -ab
Battery 0: Discharging, 24%, 01:54:12 remaining
Adapter 0: off-line

Also, I have a power-saving script which I used to put into
/etc/pm/power.d and sleep.d, however it doesn't execute. I suspect it
has to do with the g-p-m issue.. Now I've worked around it by editing
the file /etc/acpi/power.sh and putting the path to the script right
below the bin bash line.

By the way, I'm running Ubuntu Lucid fully updated and from a clean
install, not an update.

Patrick
