I have the same problem, but maybe with slightly different out come. When connecting to a cups server I can see my printers, I can then add a printer and set it to default. If I then go into any other application I cannot see my added printer. If I close the "Printing" dialogue box and return to it all my printers have gone and I need to click Server > Connect again. This was working in beta1 of lucid, just seems to be a recent change.
