The bug still "lives" in lucid. I have a freshly installed lucid x64 system and after i enter my password the computer freezes. CPU: AMD Sempron 3000+ Mobo: Gigabyte K8NS (rev 2) with F21A BIOS (the latest). I didn't find anything related to cool & quiet in BIOS.
As a work-around I've disabled the ondemand and powernowd services from recovery mode (hold SHIFT while booting, right after GRUB takes control, an select recovery mode with a netroot shell.
