Check /etc/fstab, no cd drive listed. - disc tray close automatically after eject (same issue if i use right click on disc icon or if if i use disc button) - + - if i remove cd/dvd when disc tray is closed, blank DVD appears on desktop STEPS TO REPRODUCE: - 1. Install ubuntu Lucid - 2. After the desktop appears, place cd or dvd in disc drive and nothing happens (1st Symptom) - 3. Mounting can be forced by pressing "mounted" in the Disk Utility + 1.
