I think they fixed this upstream, it's now possible to boot our Ubuntu
kernels out of the box:

  cd /media/cdrom
  qemu -m 180 -hda /dev/zero -hdb filesystem.squashfs -kernel vmlinuz -initrd 
initrd.gz
