@Jane, Could you download and install the appropriate kernel from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~bradf/bug_548661/. This has a patch from Daniel T Chen applied to it. You just need to download linux- image-$(uname -r)_2.6.32-20.30_i386.deb and then use "sudo dpkt -i linux-image-$(uname -r)_2.6.32-20.30_i386.deb" to install it. You will need to reboot after installing this new kernel.
