Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center
The default Gnome theme, in a new clean installation, places the close & minimize buttons on the LEFT side of the top window border, and the border & scroll-bars are blue color in the active window. However, after selecting *any* theme in System->Appearance, the buttons appear on the RIGHT side, and there does not appear to be any way to change that. The very first time a theme image is clicked upon, a pop-up says that the theme "suggests" button positions but they can be "reverted" if desired. However, there does not appear to be any such "revert button positions" feature, nor a way to directly specify button positions (at least, not using normal Gnome features).
