Otto, Ken, I think Dylan has a point w.r.t. the subtlety of the pre-lights for the window controls in Radiance / Ambiance. Please can you publish some alternatives? Perhaps get Christian to knock up a dumb mockup (static images only, with mouseover) of some variations for review?
