This sounds like a regression / bug with ia32-libs, but not with boinc - maybe the package of the bug report should get changed.
Is this still an issue (e.g. with the upcoming 10.04)? Also, 9.10 has ia32-libs version 2.7ubuntu17 currently. What version of ia32-libs have you been using before?
