Happens for me too. If I plug the external monitor and set the netbook lcd to mirror the external monitor, things work ok. However, if I set it to be on the left side of the external monitor, x crashes. Using kubuntu lucid with all updates, on a netbook with an intel video (00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/GME, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)) After that crash, I'm set to 800x600, and if I try to restore the native 1024x800 resolution, X server crashes again. I'm attaching the dmesg, lspci, lshw and Xserver.0.log files.
