Linux qcore 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 29 19:28:32 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux >From time to time KDE responds very slowly to mouse clicks. For instance, after clicking on a taskbar entry the application takes about 30 seconds to come to the foreground. It is as if the taskbar didn't notice the click until half a minute later. Other KDE applications have the same issue. Dolphin, for example, takes a long time to respond to clicks on its buttons. Non-KDE apps reacts normally to mouse clicks (within the application, but they are affected by the same lag coming to the foreground when its taskbar entry is clicked). It only affects to mouse clicks, the keyboard is as responsive as always. Another strange thing is that the clock widget on the taskbar is stuck too: it updates the hour after about half a minute. The taskbar doesn't reflect changes on the active application immediately either, it can take up to one minute to highlight the entry of the foreground application or reflect a change on its title text. There is nothing sucking CPU or RAM resources, the CPU usage is almost 0% all the time. Once it starts, the issue comes and goes: it works fine for some clicks but slows down for several minutes thereafter. The only cure is to logout and restart X, although sometimes a reboot is required. Then it can take from minutes to days to happen again. It happened a few times with previous versions of KDE too (4.2.0 and 4.1.x, IIRC). ** Affects: kde4libs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid -- Very slow response to mouse clicks by the KDE desktop. https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/346021 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kde4libs in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
