Unfortunately the log you've provided is not detailed enough for us to
resolve this issue.

Can you please use the latest daily-live CD (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live) and run the installer in debug mode.  To do this, select
"Try Ubuntu 10.04", wait for the desktop to load, then hit alt-F2 and
enter `ubiquity -d`.  When the install crashes, hit alt-F2 again and
type `apport-collect 557573`.  This will attach much more detailed logs
to this bug report.
