Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ifupdown

(Lucid beta) When using dhcp configuration in /etc/network/interfaces,
the client receives an IP address, but can not resolve hostnames.
/etc/resolv.conf is missing.

For example

# The primary network interface
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp

Steps to reproduce:
- Boot Ubuntu
- /etc/resolv.conf is missing (and NFS shares like hostname:/ will not be
mounted.)
