BTW, you're free to remove PA if you feel it's buggy, but be aware that screaming doesn't help fix the bugs at all. >From what I can tell of your symptom, it wouldn't be related to PA at all. If Flash is misconfigured to grab hw:X or plughw:X, of course any other app will fail. And- I presume you've configured Phonon correctly (see comment 2). If this isn't the case, then you should file a separate bug.
