Dmesg gives the following messages when running any piece of software that might use the webcam (I've tested aMSN, cheese and Ekiga):
[ 979.810911] ehci_hcd 0000:00:13.5: force halt; handhake ffffc90000364424 00004000 00000000 -> -110 [ 981.040108] rtl8187: wireless radio switch turned off [ 981.120293] wlan0: deauthenticating from 00:18:39:2f:ba:b2 by local choice (reason=3) I was able to make cheese run by doing a sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/uvcvideo.conf and writing the following line in there: options uvcvideo quirks=1 With this, I am able to run cheese once with the web cam working properly. Running cheese again or trying to run any other software has so far resulted in the same behaviour as described earlier. -- [Toshiba Satellite L300D]Trying to use built-in webcam breaks wireless and power management https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554263 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
