Public bug reported: Binary package hint: wine1.2
With the removal of cd/dvd drives from fstab in lucid wine can no longer detect the drive(s) This could present several issues for progs that access media on the drive ( unless the prog can use an IO of ASPI (WNASPI32.DLL) One of the more common potential issues will be running a .exe from a disk on the drive, the executable bit is not set, nor can it be set from the mountpoint of /media/<volume label> (or at least obviously so. A workaround is to create a typical fstab entry for the drive and mount dir. (/media/cdrom0, ect. This does work but properties - permissions of the mount does show some unusual ownership ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: wine (not installed) ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-19.28-generic 2.6.32.10+drm33.1 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-19-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: i386 Date: Sat Apr 3 10:24:10 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" - Alpha i386 (20100313.1) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: wine1.2 ** Affects: wine1.2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 lucid -- no cd/dvd drive detection for wine in lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554642 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
