The attached patch has fixed the ACPI issues with Lucid Beta1 that I describe in comment #12. It is simply a backport of the original patch (also linked to in my comment above). It applies cleanly to 2.6.32-19. I've also attached this patch to bug #526354 as I suspect that it is a duplicate of this one (or vice-versa).
