Public bug reported:

When the pulseaudio device is set to analog surround 5.1 output gstreamer apps 
fail with this message when playing ac3 audio.
This happens whether a .ac3 audio file or a DVD_VIDEO disk.
Switching to analog stereo output allows playback

Note that non-gstreamer apps have no such issue

"pa_stream_writable_size() failed: Connection terminated"
