FWIW I also get that message when I run Lucid in VirtualBox, but there's no problem here. The system boots fine and GDM starts without problems. I investigated it a little bit and the message is coming from plymouth. Removed plymouth-label and the message is gone. But like I said there's no problem here, my guess is that it has nothing to do with booting/GDM problems, it just happens to be the last message you see.
