@David: can you please tell me why Phonon/Xine still depends on asoundrc.conf for the plugin configuration? After the last update of KDE environment, Amarok (phonon/xine) didn't recognize pulseaudio plugin/device any more and I had to force its recognition adding these lines to the configuration file (.asoundrc.asoundconf): ------------------------------------------- pcm.phononpulse { type plug slave.pcm { type pulse } hint { show on description "PulseAudio" } } -------------------------------------- this issue was documented in:
http://forums.opensuse.org/applications/multimedia/435352-latest-phonon- doesnt-work-pulseaudio.html http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php/Dmix You said these configuration files are deprecated... So I am a bit confused because there is still an official, documented use. It is a complete mess to properly have an out-of-the-box configured ALSA/PULSEAUDIO/PHONON system. -- [regression] After Karmic Update integration ALSA+PULSEAUDIO is problematic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/478014 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
