QA_manager, Can you please run the install from the latest daily-live CD: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live
Click on "Try Ubuntu 10.04" when you get to the graphical environment. When the desktop finishes loading, press alt-F2 to bring up the run dialog and type "ubiquity -d" in it, then click on Run. Move through the installer until it crashes (or displays the crash report icon) and then hit alt-F2 again and type "apport-bug ubiquity", then click on Run. This will file a new bug report with debugging logs attached.
