Hmm, explicitly prohibiting direct user interaction with notifications
does seem like shooting oneself in the foot. For example it puts notify-
osd at an immediate disadvantage when compared to many application-
specific implementations. A case in point being Thunderbird; libnotify
pop-ups are not nearly as useful to me as the default notifications
displayed by Thunderbird, which allow left-click access to the inbox.

Anyhow, this is dangerously off-topic so I shall refrain from waffling
on.
