Since the updates of yesterday the behavior has changed in that nothing put in the Pioneer DVR-112 now mounts when booted with either -16 or -17 kernel all that happens is you see a solid activity light as the disk spins up then a brief pause before a flashing activity light and when this stops instead of the disc in the drive being mounted the drive just disappears from Computer and on attempting to eject the disk instead of ejecting it just goes though the spin-up and read cycle when the eject button on the drive is pressed but if you press it a second time after the disk activity ceases it eject OK an the drive re-appears in computer.
In the past I have seen this problem before on another distribution about 2 years ago and I think UDEV was the culprit for the failure then. I have booted the same hardware into what is normally used (Fully updated 8.04) and the drive performs as expected. Checking what has been updated since the install of Beta1 in /var/cache/apt/archive/ i can see we have had updates to the following packages which might also have caused this bug gvfs mount nautilus uuid-runtime udev --- (reported against) udisks -- [LUCID] CD tray close automatically after eject https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/546373 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
