Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

It is not possible for me to adjust the brightness on my Fujitsu-Siemens
Amilo Si 3655 laptop via the brightness-applet and the mouse. When I
click on the applet's icon, the slider shows up properly. But once I
click the slider or one of the two buttons (+ and -) the slider becomes
hidden. After clicking the icon again the slider shows again, but it is
not aligned under the icon but rather on the very left of the screen
next to the gnome menu. Clicking hides it again.

The only way to adjust the brightness via the applet is to use the
cursor keys once the slider is displayed.

I'm using ubuntu lucid with the latest updates installed.

gnome-power-manager:
