Ah, that would certainly be overwritten by the newer package version
from lucid. Only modifications in /etc stay around.

(for the record, the "sticky" way of modifying PolicyKit permissions
is with man pklocalauthority)

OK, that looks wrong then.

 (1) Is your user in the "admin" group?
 (2) do you have the policykit-desktop-privileges package installed?
