Confrimed in Lucid Lynx Beta 1 wtih MPlayer UNKNOWN-4.4.3. I have http_proxy environment variable set and I can "wget" the mp3 file I want to stream. Running mplayer to stream the file results in a "Proxy Authentication Required" messages.
I get the same result when I explicitly specify the proxy details in the URL given to mplayer (mplayer http_proxy://...etc).
The workaround of getting the file wtih wget and piping it to mplayer didn't work reliably: wget http://... -O - | mplayer - played parts of the file (misse the beginning) only and seemed to skip sections. Including the suggested "cache" argument to mplayer resulted in nothing being played.
-- mplayer does not work with proxies requiring authentication https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/477317 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
