It would be helpful if someone could follow the instructions provided by Tim in comment #13 and attach the appropriate dmesg logs.
Also, there may be fixes in the latest 2.6.34 kernel that is being developed. If someone could test out the Ubuntu mainline package for that kernel it may help us find a fix.
