** Description changed:

  I am using Ubuntu 9.04.
When i booted it up the first time (live cd or installed) it had a wrong
resolution.
I have a Ati radeon Xpress 200 card with a Compaq V75 monitor.
The out of the box resolution for this system is set as 1024 X 768 (4:3) at
85 hz.
But the correct/perfect resolution for my system is 1024 X 768 (4:3) at 75 hz.

This also happened with Xubuntu 9.10 live cd (i think Ubuntu 9.10 would
  have the same)

And if i change the resolution my gdm is still the wrong one... :(
So i hope this will be fixed for the whole computer.
