Does "doing something" basically mean "not passing by DEB, but compiling and installing files by myself"? Could you tell me what's wrong in my procedure? I think compiling/installing software should be supported as well... I think I am pretty sure that also the backports installation with cooked DEB packages will suffer from the same issue. I do not have time to test, indeed, but I will next time I will install the distribution. I'd be happy if someone could test this behaviour as well.
