It may well have made problems worse for me. I'm running Lucid and have a ATI Mobility Radeon 9600. Before the download, my graphics during games and videos were very choppy and my medium visual effect desktop settings were very slow. Now I cannot even run games (Glest, TeeWorlds won't start...they don't do anything when I click on them) and I cannot even attempt to switch to medium or high visual effects. I notice my screen is brighter, but other than that it still does not fix my problems: that I'm essential running without a graphics driver.
