Today I had this issue a few times after each other for the first time. When Plymouth was going on endlessly for the Xth time I pressed Enter, which -- to my surprise -- killed Plymouth and presented me with a recovery shell, preceded by the following message:
mountall:mountall.c:2726: Not reached assertion failed in boredom_timeout General error mounting filesystems. A maintenance shell will now be started. CONTROL-D will terminate this shell and reboot the system. After I had pressed Ctrl+D the system rebooted, but two multi-line error messages were printed to the shell first. I could only catch a glimpse of them. The first line of both of the error messages contained something like "/var/{couldn't read this}/ureadahead/debugfs {text} device is busy {text}" There was more, but I couldn't read it. When the system had rebooted I got the "init: ureadahead main process terminated with status 4", as usual, and the system booted just fine. -- Default Plymouth theme is sometimes stuck in the loading animation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/542575 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
