More information: I have a dual-frequency WAP. When connecting to the 5GHz connection the connection is made and works fine but the applet displays the warning icon. However connecting to the other access point the applet displays a full connection icon.
I've searched the log files for any indication of a problem when the applet reports trouble but have found none.
