Hello, i hope this was not already mentioned (i can't read 283 comments now) but when you use gnome-shell the buttons are very near to the activity button. sometimes i open the overlay mode when i want to use the buttons. This can suck ;-) on the other side when i don't use gnome-shell i prefer the buttons on the left side.
