I think you guys are being a little too nonchalant about this. This is a real problem. 1) This problem is widely mentioned in various Ubuntu forums, e.g. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=511045 or http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-511045.html or http ://ubuntu-ky.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8911603 or dozens of others. 2) I also confirmed it on my Ubuntu 9.04 64bit. Specifically, after enabling duplex printing in CUPS, I can print double sided from Open Office 3.0.1. and Acrobat Reader 9.3.1 (as installed from the Canonical repositories), but not from Evince 2.26.1. I think we need to look at this more carefully - as it stands, anyone who wants to print PDFs two sided has to install Adobe's software - not sure that this is the message that you want to convey to the community...
