OK, just a short comment: I like change and I think Ubuntu should be able to change things to be better than their competition. But I also use Chrome, Kubuntu and Windows and this is really hard to get used to (I tried for weeks now).
IMO it is better to change these things with upstream in Gnome 3.0 and not in a LTS.
