This is definitely still the case in Karmic. Doing a "pulseaudio -k" still solves the issue. I ran "apport-collect -p alsa-base 430030" in Karmic with the card plugged in and NOT recognized. I'll try with a Lucid daily build ASAP. Thanks for interesting in my issue! :)
