I understand it is by design. But both mpt and I think it looks weird. It looks bland and uninteresting because it is so empty. For reference look at how iTunes 7 does it: http://www.winsupersite.com/images/reviews/itunes7_05.jpg I would say it looks rather nice considering the similarities between the two apps.
I think that implementing the behavior that I described above would be more appealing then the current hard coded position of the screenshot. This is a wishlist bug IMO. But it would make USC look better for those that will use Lucid for the next 3 years.
