Public bug reported: The Sun Java 6 can't be removed from main repositories. It's used by various developers, and in Brazil to access the main banks is needed the official Sun Java packages (doesn't work with openjdk).
The free software philosophy is difficult for users to work? Because this the final user going back to proprietary operational systems. I think who in the next versions of Ubuntu the Adobe's flash-plugin will be removed, even as msttcorefonts, NVIDIA and ATI drivers... This not is an improvement, but an attempt to force the user to use free software. Adding the sun-java6 in partner repository don't will go make Ubuntu a "Linux for Human Beings!", but a "Linux for Free Software Fanatics". Probably this problem will be invalided as Incomplete, but the truth is that I want an Ubuntu better, not worse. ** Affects: sun-java6 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- sun-java6 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/540175 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
