In my opinion, a fix for next Ubuntu release is not enough : - this is a major bug for Abiword which is unusable for existing document on Karmic Koala. - Abiword can not stay in this state until the next Ubuntu release. Please, think to users which really use it daily. - it is not correct to force user to upgrade to next Ubuntu version because a single component which is not reliable and which won't be stabilized (Abiword or PulseAudio).
I also think this problem fix should be managed by AbiWord team, possibly by discussing with PulseAudio developers for a fix.
