Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: python-setuptools

The following commands don't results in a module being successfully
imported into python command-line:

$ sudo easy_install gearman
$ python
>>> import gearman
ImportError: No module named gearman

The problem seems to be permissions related: changing the permissions of
the installed modules location (/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages)
and making it readable by everyone fixes it. The default permissions are
readable to root only).

The problem seems to be there for any module which installs to
/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages (so far all the 5 I have tried).
