I have the same issue as comment #17.   I have my version of Karmic U.
Studio installed as a software raid with grub 2 in MBR of 1st Sata
drive, & I have /boot as a separate non raid partition on same drive.  I
have not flashed my bios yet since it is so recent and the new versions
don't seem to have anything usefull for me. I wanted to confirm that it
is not a hardware issue as this was a newly built system.  I do have
other minor hardware issues so far, one is that I had to remove the IDE
CD drive as first boot since I could not complete post without hanging
on IDE read and it would reboot - until I switched to SATA drive as the
first boot.  I don't know if the message has anything to do with this.
I am pretty sure that I do not have FDD enabled in my bios.
