Hi,

just to let you know, I just tested with today's snapshot image of
Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 and the problem still persists. I also linked against
the appropriate bug in Debian.

I tried the following:

- Tested with Karmic 9.10 with all updates as of 03/15/2010 => does not resolve
the problem
- Tested with Fedora 13 Alpha CDROM => does not resolve the problem either
- Tested with Lucid 10.04 Snapshot from 03/15/2010 => does not resolve the
problem either

I also updated the BIOS of the DELL to version A20 which claims to have
updated the Intel power management firmware, but still no success.

Sidenote:

On Fedora 13 and Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 with kms enabled, after resuming
from suspend, the display backlight is turned on back again, however
there is only some distorted flicker on the screen. In Karmic 9.10 (no
KMS, since 9.10 has no noveau driver), the backlight is not powered on
again.

Please re-open the bug report.

Thanks,

Adrian
