Sill a problem in Kubuntu 64 9.10 with 2.6.31-17-generic on an Asus A8V motherboard (VT82C586A IDE controller chip-set)
Does anyone know whether this is EVER going to be fixed by the Kernel developers, after all it is hardly trivial! I'm having a problem with a Brand New Pioneer DVR-A18L Series drive. A work college with same VT8x chip-set has exactly the same problems with his two Pioneer IDE DVD drives (they work under Windows) Bug is easy to reproduce, burn a DVD with K3B, get it to verify the DVD. DVD Ejects but when reloaded, nothing is displayed.
